These Terms are the agreement between you and us about your use of SFSocial. Please read them. By creating an account you accept them.
If you do not accept these Terms, do not create an account.
1. Who you are agreeing with
SFSocial is operated by Mohamed Mefjouj, an individual trading as SFSocial (publicly known as Simo Jumpur), based in Morocco. There is no company behind it. The service is built and run by one person, with a small number of volunteers who help with moderation.
In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Mohamed Mefjouj trading as SFSocial. "You" means you, the person using the service. "SFSocial" or "the Service" means the SFSocial website at sfsocial.app and our applications.

2. About SFSocial
What it is
SFSocial is a community-first social and dating app for adults. The idea is simple: you meet people through shared interests and public conversation first, and move into private conversations only when both people agree to it.
It is deliberately not a swipe app. There is no endless deck of faces, no public ranking of members, and no way to see who has looked at you.
How it works
Communities and channels. You join public communities built around topics and interests, and take part in ordinary group conversation there. This is where most meeting happens.
Profiles. A profile carries your bio, interests, pronouns, country, and optionally your city. You control what is shown.
Consent-based direct messages. You cannot simply message a stranger. You send a request, and the other person can accept, decline, block or report it. If they decline, you cannot keep asking.
Optional dating and matching. Dating is switched off until you turn it on. If you do, SFSocial suggests one person at a time based on your stated intentions, interests, personality answers and preferences. You can skip anyone privately, and they are never told.
Safety tools. Blocking, reporting, rate limits and human moderation are built into the product rather than added afterwards.
Why it was made
Most dating apps ask you to judge strangers on a photograph and a sentence, at speed and in volume. That produces a lot of matches and very little context, and it puts the people who are most likely to be harassed in the least protected position.
SFSocial was built on the opposite assumption: that people connect better when there is something shared to connect over, and when contact requires consent rather than persistence. Communities come first, dating is optional, and private contact is something you agree to rather than something that happens to you.
3. SFSocial is under development
SFSocial is unfinished software and you should treat it that way.
We are telling you this up front because it affects what you can reasonably expect:
- Features may change, break or disappear. We are actively building the Service. Things that work today may work differently tomorrow, or stop working.
- There may be bugs, downtime and data loss. We do not currently maintain long-term backups. Do not rely on SFSocial as the only place anything important is stored.
- Some functions are handled manually. Account deletion and data export are done by email rather than in the app. See section 12 and our Privacy Policy.
- Age is self-declared and not verified. See section 4.
- Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted in transit, but we can technically access message content on our servers. Do not send anything through SFSocial that you would not want a service operator to be able to read.
- We are a very small team. The Service is run by one individual, with volunteer moderators helping to review reports. We respond as quickly as we can, but not instantly and not around the clock.
The Service is provided as described in section 15.
4. Who can use SFSocial
You must be at least 18 years old. Where the age of majority where you live is higher than 18, you must have reached that age.
You must also:
- Provide a real date of birth
- Not be banned from SFSocial, or be creating an account to get around a ban
- Be legally able to enter into this agreement
- Not be barred from using the Service under the laws that apply to you
How our age check works, honestly: we ask for your date of birth and refuse the signup if it shows you are under 18. We do not verify it. We do not check identity documents. Giving a false date of birth to get an account is a breach of these Terms and we will remove your account if we find out.
If you believe someone under 18 is using SFSocial, report them in the app or email support@sfsocial.app. We treat these reports as our highest priority.
5. Your account
You are responsible for your account:
- Keep your password secret. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, unless someone else used it without your permission and you could not reasonably have prevented it.
- Tell us promptly at support@sfsocial.app if you think someone has accessed your account.
- One account per person, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Your username and display name must not impersonate anyone, mislead people about who you are, or contain abusive content. We may reclaim a username that breaks these Terms.
6. Using the Service
Section 2 describes what SFSocial is. Two points there are also rules, not just descriptions:
Direct messages require consent. You send a request, and the other person decides. If someone declines your request, blocks you, or stops replying, that is their answer. Continuing to pursue contact after that is a breach of section 7.
Dating is optional and reversible. It is off until you turn it on, and turning it off hides your dating profile and removes you from other members' suggestions.
There is nothing to pay. SFSocial currently has no paid features, subscriptions or purchases, and we do not process payments. If we introduce paid features we will publish separate terms for them first.
7. Rules of conduct
These rules apply everywhere on SFSocial: communities, group chats, direct messages, profiles and usernames.
You must not post or send
- Sexual content. SFSocial does not permit sexual or adult content, including in private messages.
- Anything sexualising a minor. This results in an immediate permanent ban and we will report it to the authorities.
- Hate or discrimination, including racism, slurs, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- Harassment, including targeted abuse, pile-ons, or continuing to contact someone who does not want to hear from you.
- Threats or violence, including intimidation.
- Doxxing, meaning publishing anyone's private information without their consent, including addresses, phone numbers, workplaces and private messages.
- Content encouraging self-harm or suicide.
- Impersonation of another person, organisation or SFSocial staff.
- Scams, fraud or phishing, including financial exploitation and romance scams.
- Spam, including unsolicited bulk messages, advertising, or mass unsolicited requests.
- Defamation, rumours, or drama imported from other platforms.
- Anything illegal where you are or where we are.
You must not
- Evade a ban or suspension, including by making a new account.
- Break, probe or overload the Service. No scraping, automated access, bots, reverse engineering, or attempts to bypass security, rate limits or CAPTCHA.
- Access data you are not entitled to, or try to work out who someone is from information the Service deliberately withholds.
- Collect other members' data in bulk, for any purpose.
- Use SFSocial commercially. No advertising, recruitment or promotion without our written permission.
- Misuse reporting by filing knowingly false reports.
8. Your content
You keep ownership
You own what you create. Posting on SFSocial does not transfer ownership of your photos, messages or profile to us.
The permission you give us
To run the Service we need permission to use your content. By posting or sending content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display and distribute it, solely for the purposes of:
- operating and providing SFSocial to you and the people you send it to
- keeping the Service safe, including moderation and investigating reports
- complying with the law and defending legal claims
We do not use this licence to publish your content outside SFSocial, to advertise, or to sell it. We will not use your photos or messages for marketing.
This permission continues after you leave
This is important, so we are stating it separately.
When you send a message to someone, that message becomes part of a conversation you share with them. The licence you grant us for messages you have sent continues after you delete your account, so that:
- the people you talked to keep their side of the conversation, and
- evidence of harassment or abuse is not destroyed by the person responsible deleting their account
When you delete your account, we remove your identity from those messages. Your name, username and picture come off, and they appear from a former member. The message content stays visible to the people you sent it to.
If you want your message content removed as well, delete your messages before deleting your account, or ask us in your deletion email and we will delete them for you. Section 12 below and section 13 of our Privacy Policy explain this in full.
You are responsible for what you post
You confirm that you have the right to post what you post, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.
We may remove content
We may remove content that breaks these Terms, and we may do so without notice where it is harmful or unlawful.
9. Other people's content
Content on SFSocial comes from its members. We do not endorse it, and we do not pre-screen it. Anything you read, including anything someone tells you about themselves, is their claim and not ours.
Please use ordinary caution. Do not send money to people you meet here. Be careful about sharing personal information. If you arrange to meet someone in person, take the precautions you would take meeting any stranger.
Report anything that breaks these rules, in the app or at support@sfsocial.app.
10. Reporting and moderation
Reporting
You can report members, messages and profiles in the app. Reports can include a description and supporting evidence. Reports go to our moderators, and the reported member is not told who reported them.
Categories include harassment, hate, threats, doxxing, underage accounts, sexual content involving minors, self-harm, adult content, scams, impersonation, defamation and spam.
Who reviews reports
Reports are reviewed by the operator and by a small number of volunteer moderators. Moderators can see the reported content, the surrounding conversation, any evidence attached, and the reported member's profile. Access is limited by role, and every moderation action is recorded in an audit log. Volunteers are required to keep what they see confidential and to use it only for moderation.
Moderators do not have routine access to private conversations. They see a conversation only where it has been reported, or while investigating a specific report.
What we may do
Where these Terms are broken, we may:
- Warn you
- Remove the content
- Suspend your account temporarily
- Ban your account permanently
- Restrict specific features
We aim to match the response to the seriousness of what happened and to your history. Serious violations, including anything sexualising a minor, credible threats, or serious scamming, will normally result in an immediate permanent ban with no warning.
We will tell you
If we take action on your account, we will tell you what we did and why, unless telling you would compromise an investigation or the law prevents it.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal at https://sfsocial.app/appeal or by emailing support@sfsocial.app. A human will look at it. Tell us your username and why you think the decision was wrong.
11. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Two points worth repeating here:
- What other members see is described in section 9 of the Privacy Policy.
- What happens when you delete your account is described in section 13 of the Privacy Policy and in section 8 above.
12. Ending this agreement
You can leave at any time
You can stop using SFSocial whenever you like.
To delete your account, email support@sfsocial.app from your registered address. There is no in-app delete button yet, and we are building one. We aim to complete deletions within one month.
Section 8 above and section 13 of the Privacy Policy explain what is deleted and what is not.
We may suspend or end your access
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- you break these Terms
- your account is used in a way that harms other members or the Service
- we are required to by law
- you are under 18, or we have good reason to believe you are
Where it is reasonable and safe to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. For serious violations we will act immediately.
We may discontinue the Service
SFSocial is an unfinished project run by a very small team. We may change, suspend or discontinue it, in whole or in part, at any time. If we shut the Service down permanently, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email where we reasonably can, so you can ask for a copy of your data.
What survives
Sections 8, 9, 15, 16 and 18 continue to apply after your account ends.
13. Our intellectual property
The SFSocial name, logo, design, software and content we create are ours. These Terms do not give you any right to use them beyond using the Service normally.
You may not copy, modify, distribute or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law gives you that right regardless of what this agreement says.
14. Changes to these Terms
We will update these Terms as SFSocial develops.
- Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is needed immediately for safety, security or legal reasons.
- Minor changes take effect when published.
- The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
If you do not accept a change, delete your account before it takes effect. Continuing to use SFSocial after that means you accept the updated Terms.
15. No warranty
SFSocial is provided "as is" and "as available".
To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that it will meet your expectations. We do not guarantee that data will not be lost, and as stated in section 3, we do not currently maintain long-term backups.
We do not promise that you will meet anyone, form any connection, or have any particular experience.
We do not verify members' identities, ages or statements about themselves. We moderate reported content, but we cannot guarantee that every member is who they say they are or that every interaction will be safe.
Nothing here removes any warranty or right the law gives you and does not allow us to exclude. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights your local consumer law gives you.
16. Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of opportunity.
- We are not liable for the conduct of other members, online or offline, including anything that happens if you meet someone in person.
- Where we are liable, and to the extent the law permits a cap, our total liability to you is limited to 100 US dollars, reflecting that SFSocial is provided free of charge.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
If you are a consumer, nothing in this section affects your mandatory legal rights.
17. If we disagree
Please email support@sfsocial.app first. Most problems are quicker to solve directly, and we would rather fix something than argue about it.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Morocco, and the courts of Morocco have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
19. General
- If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up.
- You may not transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours if SFSocial changes hands, and we will tell you first.
- These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
20. Contact

We do not publish a postal address. If you need to reach us in writing for a legal matter, email us and we will provide an address for correspondence.
