Appeal a decision about your account
If we suspended, banned or restricted your account and you think we got it wrong, tell us. A person reads every appeal.
Send your appeal
The form asks for your username, what happened, and why you think the decision was wrong. It takes a couple of minutes.
The form opens in a new tab. If you would rather write to us, support@sfsocial.app reaches the same people.
What to have ready
An appeal with none of this in it takes longer, because the first thing we have to do is write back and ask.
-
Your username
The @name on your profile. If you cannot open the app, the email address you signed up with is enough.
-
What we told you
The reason shown on the notice, and roughly when it appeared. It is on the screen the app shows when you sign in.
-
Why you think it is wrong
In your own words. Context we could not see counts for a lot: who you were talking to, what was actually happening, what the message meant.
What happens next
-
A person reads it
Not the system that flagged you. Someone looks at the account, the reports and whatever you sent us.
-
We reply to the address on your account
We do not have a promised response time, and we would rather say that than invent one. Please do not send the same appeal several times: it does not move it up the queue.
-
The decision stands, is reduced, or is reversed
If it is reversed your account comes back as it was. If it stands we will tell you why, unless saying so would compromise an investigation or the law prevents it.
Worth knowing before you write
Deleting your account does not lift a suspension. Neither does deleting it and signing up again: bans are enforced across re-registration, and evading one is itself a reason to be removed. If you want to leave rather than appeal, that is a different page.
Some decisions are not reversible on appeal. Anything sexualising a minor, a credible threat, or serious scamming results in a permanent ban, and we do not lift those. The rules themselves are in the Terms of Service, and section 10 covers moderation and appeals specifically.
An appeal is not the place to report someone else. Use the report button in the app, or write to support@sfsocial.app.
